Sander Load Securing - Haan

1865
Foundation of the company "Fr. Sander Nachf." in Wuppertal-Barmen on 22.10.1865 by Robert Lücke. The manufacturing company (a belt turning shop) makes shoelaces, braids, hat bands and ribbons („Barmer Article“).

1928
Start of production of "non-woven tapes" like Sanderband® for cargo security on own self-designed and developed production lines.

1934
Expansion of the product portfolio to include automatic strapping machines.

1945
After World War II the main factory is rebuilt. Production resumes and new strapping and packaging machines (such as automatic strapping machines) are developed. This field develops exceptionally fast and helps the company to become the European leader in this sector.

1950
From the 1950s onwards, other techniques are introduced for the production of technical tapes for cable, electrical, textile and car industries. With the emerge of new materials (cellophane, polyamide) the product range gradually turns to packaging tapes.

1974
Introduction of high-strength polyester tapes in the product range.

1978
New development of the "Kraftwinkel" (edge protection) for pallet securing. Managing directors are Gerd Lücke (4th generation) and Kurt Steinbrenner.

1980
Ready-made cardboard edge protection profiles are becoming bestsellers.

1988
With the new building and the start of production in the modern plant in Nümbrecht-Gaderoth, the company is able to record its greatest expansion.

1990
Packaging machines for plastic strapping get a modern, modular design and represent together with the Plastic strapping units of the GS series produced in Germany a reference in many areas of application in industrial packaging.

2000
Sander joins the internationally operating M. J. Maillis Group.

2002
Standardized quality confirmed by obtaining certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001.

2014
The Sander administration moves from the old production site to modern business premises in Wuppertal Mitte.

2018
The plant in Nümbrecht-Gaderoth becomes an independent company within the Maillis Group operating under the name Sander Technology GmbH. Worldwide distribution is now managed independently.

2020
Targeted expansion of the core business - focus is Sanderband® and edge protection. Expansion of modern machinery. Roll-out of future-oriented digitalization with high customer benefit. The Sander administration moves from Wuppertal Mitte to new, ultra-modern business premises with a showroom in Haan.
